Pouembout Highschool, here is Fiji, is invited at the Residence of France [fr]
Acting Ambassador at the French Embassy Mr Jules Irrmann hosted a reception at the French Residence on Friday night (August 5th) for the coming of the College of Agriculture of Pouembout, New Caledonia. Chief of departments of the Fiji National University (FNU) school/college of agriculture, the Fiji Livetock and Crop Council (FLCC, professional agricultural organisation) and other partners who welcomed the New caledonia students during their short educational visit in Suva were invited as well.
The event ended, for these students, a week of visits in Fijian agricultural and environmental infrastructures in partnership with the FNU (Fiji National University). This visit aimed at allowing an intercultural meeting between northern French speaking provinces and southern English speaking provinces while promoting the sharing of knowledge and "savoir-faire", the boosting of of agricultural courses and the opening of general and agricultural courses.
During the short interventions, Mr Irrmann and Mr laurençon, coordinator of the highschool’s eurro-oceania section and of this cooperation trip, insisted on the necessity of developing an educational cooperation between the youth of New Caledonia and Fiji in a spirit of mutual benefits.
