French Ambassador presents credentials in Kiribati
French Ambassador, Mr. Jean-François Bouffandeau, presented his credentials to the Hon. Prime Minister of Kiribati, Mr Anote Tong on the 28th of February 2007.
He drew on the occasion to reiterate the long attachment France had with the region not only through New Caledonia, French Polynesia and Wallis & Futuna but also on equal footing with neighboring countries. Mr. Bouffandeau said that France would like to further develop existing friendship and partnership with the region. He added that it was within this context that the President of the French Republic, Jacques Chirac hosted the second France-Oceania Summit in Paris on 26 June 2006.
The French Embassy based in Suva is also accredited to Nauru, Tuvalu, Fiji and Tonga. The Ambassador will be presenting his credentials next in the Kingdom of Tonga on March 26.
