The Ambassador - Sujiro SEAM
His Excellency Mr. Sujiro SEAM has started on October the 4th, 2017.
I arrive in Suva with my wife Jane and my sons Arthur and Elliot as the new Ambassador of France to Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Tonga and Tuvalu, after Michel Djokovic, whom I thank for his service these past few years.
A 20 year veteran of the Diplomatic Service, I served in Paris at the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, in Brussels at the European Commission and the French Permanent Representation to the European Union and in Houston at the French Consulate, but Suva is my first assignment as Ambassador.
I arrive in Suva with the ambition to develop the relations between France and Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Tonga and Tuvalu in all possible areas, be it politics, economy, culture, education, climate, regional cooperation, defense or sport.
I start my tour of duty in particular circumstances, as France is adjusting its presence in Pacific countries, which translates in particular into the transfer of consular services from Suva to other Capitals in the Pacific.
I arrive in Suva in a region of strategic importance for France, which is a Pacific Country with its territories of French Polynesia, New Caledonia and Wallis and Futuna.
My intentions for the next few weeks is to come and meet you in Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Tonga and Tuvalu, to discover the place and, with my team at the French Embassy in Suva, work on an action plan for the years to come.
Ambassador of France in Republic of
Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Tonga and Tuvalu
