The Fiji Women’s U-19 rugby team tours New Caledonia.

Development of women’s rugby is on track thanks to the assistance of the French Embassy in Suva.

In a bid to foster cultural and sportive ties with New Caledonia, an U-19 women’s rugby team sponsored by the French Embassy, is responding to an invitation by the New Caledonian U-19 Cagou girls who toured Fiji last year.

A 10-member squad featuring players from prominent local high schools have been training tirelessly for the past month under the guidance of coach Salote Tikoisuva who currently holds level 1 and 2 IRB coaching certificates.

The Salote Tikoisuva coached u-19 side will be leaving this Saturday for a one week tour of New Caledonia and will be accompanied by Team manager, Karen Martin, Cultural attachée with the French Embassy in Suva. The tour takes place from the 2nd to 9th of May.
