The French Ambassador to Tonga presented his Letter of Credence.
The new French Ambassador to Tonga His Excellency Mr. Gilles Montagnier presented his Letter of Credence to His Majesty King George Tupou V at the Royal Palace in Nuku’alofa, on Tuesday, November 22.
Ambassador Montagnier made his first visit to Tonga after taking up his position in Fiji in December last year. He also met with Tonga’s Prime Minister Lord Tu’ivakano and other government officials.
He was the Consul General of France in Washington from 2000-03, and was the Consul General of France in Buenos Aires in 2006, before his posting to Fiji.
Ambassador Montagnier is the accredited as the French Ambassador to Tonga, Kiribati, Nauru, Tuvalu and Fiji.
